Who knew that a conversation my wife had with Bob Holland, President and Chairman of Vistage Michigan, would change my life. I recently rejoined Vistage Michigan after a sabbatical. She mentioned my heart issues to Bob, and he recommended I call their new member benefit – Healthnetwork Foundation – for advice.
Last fall I had a heart procedure here in Detroit. I had issues that resulted from the procedure and decided to follow up with a top heart specialist to determine a solution.
I made the call to Healthnetwork and spoke with Pat, a Healthnetwork Medical Coordinator, about what was going on with my heart. She quickly suggested that I needed to go to the number one heart center – Cleveland Clinic. Within a day or two I heard from a Clinic liaison who called for more information. I was promptly scheduled with a noted specialist for a consultation. I know that scheduling an appointment like this could have taken months to do on my own.
The speed of response and the attention I received from Healthnetwork was remarkable. The Cleveland Clinic campus was astounding. It was a city within a city. I thought we had beautiful hospitals here in Detroit, but they pale in comparison to the Clinic.
My heart specialist, Mandeep Bhargava, M.D., spent a great deal of time with me. He was very knowledgeable, thorough and caring. I have further steps to investigate with my local physicians, but I feel I have an expert guiding me in my care.
I had an excellent experience because of Healthnetwork; the whole thing from start to finish was very smooth and efficient. All Vistage Michigan members should feel comfortable making requests to Healthnetwork. The one call I made to Healthnetwork to start all of this was a simple part of the process … from there they accomplished so much for me. It was amazingly easy.
