I don’t know much about doctors, and I know even less about where to find good ones.
I couldn’t sleep with worry – how could I be facing surgery? My physician exhausted his knowledge of treatments and mentioned surgery as the next option. The surgery he was suggesting was common in children; however, adults faced greater risks. I was at a loss.
As a Vistage member, my husband thought to call Healthnetwork and ask for assistance. Next thing we knew we had an appointment with Samuel Weber, M.D., at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston. My appointment was a great experience. He disagreed with my need for surgery; he said this was my choice, and not his recommendation. While my condition is annoying, he could help me manage it without surgery. This was incredible news.
When we arrived at St. Luke’s my husband and I were still a bit uneasy. There was so much activity around us and the campus was so large. It was almost as if destiny was looking out for us when I stopped a stranger to ask how to get to Dr. Weber’s office. The woman said she worked for him in the past and while she took us closer to where we needed to be she raved about his experience (he was the best there is) and his demeanor (you won’t find better). It was so reassuring to hear this; we started to feel better immediately.
