You have to be careful what you ask for…
I learned this when I went to Mayo and received a diagnosis that left my local doctors struggling. My doctor at Mayo told me ‘I have good news and bad news.’ The good news was that I am well and they knew what is causing my issues; the bad news is that it is not curable.
As a long-time GOLD supporter, I had called you once or twice for assistance for others, but never for me. After I renewed my support for this year, I thought I would reach out and ask for help for myself. I found out just how helpful you can be.
My Healthnetwork Medical Coordinator Pat was able to make a connection to Mayo Clinic for me. I was there for 3 and ˝ days undergoing one test after another. Everyone was very sweet to me. When I arrived I was met by Molly on the development team and quickly taken where I needed to start my day. She checked on me throughout the day. I could tell they were very organized and very thorough in their pursuit to give me answers.
Mayo is such a busy place; they are mobbed with people. It seems they have a specialist for just about everything – even my physical therapist specialized in balance issues. Everything I had heard about the Mayo Clinic was true – they are a phenomenal place.
Both Healthnetwork and Mayo Clinic have very gracious people working there. I am happy to know that my donations over the last few years were not for naught.
