As a long-time GOLD supporter, I had called you once or twice for assistance for others, but never for me. After I renewed my support for this year, I thought I would reach out and ask for help for myself. I found out just how helpful you can be.

Having a resource like Healthnetwork is a Godsend. Mary Kay and I are passionate supporters.

I can’t imagine life without Healthnetwork.   

My affiliation with this Foundation began several years ago when I experienced a health issue. I had two differing opinions from my physicians and called Healthnetwork to tap into their experts. Imagine my surprise when I was called back and asked if I could meet with a top physician at Johns Hopkins later that week. My schedule couldn’t be rearranged that fast but by the start of the next week, I was in Baltimore. Having the opinion of a noted expert provided me with the comfort that I was pursuing the right course of action.

How can I thank you, but say thank you. I mean it. You made a big difference in our
daughter’s life. 

She has suffered from Crohn’s disease for the last 20 years, but the last 7 have been the most difficult. She became prednisone dependent so her doctor wanted to try an alternative medicine which meant she had to see an Endocrinology Specialist. Her condition was bad, but she could not make an appointment for nearly 6 weeks.

You got in the act in her behalf and she saw the Doctor the next day. That changed her life.

Thank you Teresa, for all you did for our family last week.  It was a scary time and your presence and assistance on behalf of the Cincinnati Healthnetwork office was invaluable. 

Thanks to you, we were able to focus our energy on seeing that our daughter made a quick recovery, instead of concerning ourselves with the logistics of being in a hospital.

Having experienced Healthnetwork firsthand, I am completely sold on their services.

After hearing my friend discuss his Healthnetwork experience during lunch, I called Healthnetwork to learn more.  The question, “Do you have a medical problem?” prompted me to dig deep and think of any excuse to take Healthnetwork for a test drive.

I was previously diagnosed with an extremely rare disease and asked what Healthnetwork could do for me.  By 9 a.m. the next morning, Healthnetwork’s medical director armed me with a 6-page summary of my condition.

Within an hour, I had an appointment with a back injury specialist at Cleveland Clinic Florida.

While playing golf, my back said "enough," and I had to be helped off the course. The original injury to my back occurred on July 25, 2007. While waiting at a stop light, a fellow hit me from behind. He was going about 30 mph. My back problems stem from that accident. The diagnosis I received from an orthopedic surgeon in Arlington Heights, Florida was incorrect, and the therapy he prescribed did not address the real problem. I have had periodic problems with my back ever since. I called Healthnetwork for help.

Over the years I have relied on Healthnetwork to help my family members get to the top hospitals. 

Just recently a relative needed help immediately and I knew Healthnetwork was the answer.  I called Healthnetwork and reached Megan, a medical coordinator, who conveyed an openness to help until the issue was resolved. She listened and compassionately set to work to connect us to AIR (Assistance in Recovery). AIR counselors helped us manage care in ways we didn’t know were available. Within an hour of talking with Megan, AIR located a bed at a premier treatment facility and facilitated my relative’s acceptance. They went above and beyond the call of duty to help solve the challenges that arose.

We all hope we don’t need the services of Healthnetwork, but it is wonderful knowing that there are people we can turn to in the worst of times who will see that the best care is provided.

When something tragic happens, you are caught off guard and not thinking clearly.  All you need is a great resource, like Teresa, who will help you put it in perspective and get you on the right path.

In early June, my father was in the car wreck.  When I arrived at University Hospital in Cincinnati, I learned even more alarming news - my father had broken his right femur and suffered a heart attack. He is 80 years old and had cardiac stents already; it was a scary situation that required immediate attention. At that point I knew that I needed Teresa’s help and called Healthnetwork.  Despite the fact that it was a Sunday, Teresa returned my call quickly and helped me figure out a plan of action.
