Smooth Sailing – Healthnetwork you put me on the right course and kept me going. I don’t have all the answers yet, but I am well on my way to managing my issues, thanks to you! When I left Mayo I had answers and a way forward.
For a few years now I have gone to several doctors – a pulmonologist for my asthma, a gastroenterologist for stomach issues and a primary care physician for other health issues. I kept going from one to the other and my frustration lingered as I continued to have issues.
My husband remembered that we had access to Healthnetwork and I called them to see what they could do. I asked Whitney, the Healthnetwork Medical Coordinator, about getting into Mayo Clinic for my coughing issues. I would have been content to tackle that single issue when she asked if there was anything else she could do. How thoughtful of her. She made it so convenient to get appointments for several of my issues at the Mayo Clinic. Soon I was hearing from the liaison at Mayo Clinic and we were putting together an itinerary.
My experience at Mayo was incredible. The liaison greeted me and took me from appointment to appointment. I had a battery of tests and they were even able to fit a few more in while I was there. My time was very well coordinated. The physicians were able to see my whole chart and make adjustments as the day progressed. I tried to do this on my own and couldn’t do it – so seeing it happen live while I was there was amazing.
When I left Mayo I had answers and a way forward. I will be going back to Mayo to have a few more tests. There is no operation or cure for my ailments, but just knowing that I can manage my symptoms means so much. This is so much more than I had before. Thank you Healthnetwork, you helped me coordinate all of my medical issues with a system of experts who see me as a whole – not just pieces. I couldn’t be more pleased.
