Paul Koomar
Vice President
Paul joined Healthnetwork Foundation in 2011 as Vice President. He is excited to be involved in serving the mission of the organization; facilitating members’ health care needs and advancing medicine through philanthropic giving.
Prior to joining Healthnetwork, Paul was employed for nine years with Cleveland Clinic in Health Care management. His most recent responsibilities were with Global Patient Services, facilitating patients annually from all 50 states and internationally from over 100 countries. The mission was “Patients First” - to provide the best possible care and outcome for every patient.
Paul collaborated on operational improvements and strategies to improve the overall patient experience. He worked extensively with the Clinical Operations’ second opinion team, providing remote electronic medical second opinions to patients. He also coordinated services with the Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport team, a service comprised of rotor and fix winged aircraft which provide medical care and transport globally.
He was responsible for marketing and business development initiatives where innovative healthcare delivery models were created directly between employers and Cleveland Clinic. He actively managed the creation of the Cleveland Clinic micro web sites, the first sites to be fully translated into multiple languages.
Prior to Global Patient Services he served in leadership roles within Institutional Relations and Development at Cleveland Clinic. Areas of responsibility included Fundraising, Government and Community Relations and Alumni Relations and Executive Patient Services.
Paul started his career in public accounting and he is a Certified Public Accountant. He emphasized building relationships while serving as a key business advisor to presidents and chief executive officers. He managed audits of privately held, nonprofit, and limited public offering companies and was also responsible for consolidated multi state tax filings.
Paul is active in his community and church. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member of the Greater Cleveland Council of the Boy Scouts of America and he is an Eagle Scout. He is President of the Bay Village, Ohio, City Council and has served on that body in various capacities for the last 11 years. The Council is responsible for approving and managing the annual budget in excess of 25 million dollars.
Paul is married and has two daughters ages 15 and 8.
