Adam R. Kaufman

Adam R. Kaufman has been networking presidents, chief executives, and entrepreneurs into the top hospitals in the U.S. since 2003. Having spent seven years as president/co-president of Healthnetwork Foundation, a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit public charity, Mr. Kaufman is one of the nation’s foremost experts on facilitated access to the leading hospitals. Business leaders and high net worth families from virtually every community in America have benefitted from the systems and relationships Mr. Kaufman has instituted, and still today call on Adam and Healthnetwork Foundation during their most serious times of need when managing a medical crisis. During Mr. Kaufman’s time as president, Healthnetwork (formerly the Inventory of Skills Foundation) tripled in size, both in terms of member usage and in size of the organization’s endowment.
Since 2007, Mr. Kaufman has focused much of his attention on the philanthropy component of Healthnetwork’s mission, educating business leaders on the financial needs of America’s best hospitals, and facilitating gifts into institutions such as Johns Hopkins Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Having become a recognized leader in hospital philanthropy, Mr. Kaufman currently serves on the boards of two private family foundations.
Prior to joining Healthnetwork Foundation, Mr. Kaufman spent four years as co-owner and day-to-day leader of a fast-growth company in Northeast Ohio. During his final year at Renewal by Andersen, the company reached No. 10 on the prestigious “Weatherhead 100,” a listing of the fastest-growing companies in Greater Cleveland.
Mr. Kaufman joined the Cleveland chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) in 2000 and continues today as an active member of the world’s largest collection of entrepreneurs. He served as Cleveland chapter president for two terms, in 2002 and 2003, and earned two awards from the international organization: Best Global Midsize Chapter in 2002, and Best Personal Development Education Event in 2003.
Mr. Kaufman’s professional experience includes 6 years in the lobbying arm of the National Rifle Association of America (NRA.) While at NRA, Mr. Kaufman participated in hundreds of speeches, debates, and other speaking engagements, and he attained the level of Special Assistant to the CEO. During these years, NRA reached No. 1 or No. 2 four times, in Fortune magazine’s “Power 25,” a ranking of the most powerful lobbing groups in Washington, D.C.
Other activities and awards include Mr. Kaufman’s selection to participate in the Army War College’s National Security Seminar in 2004. Mr. Kaufman is a current board member of the Cleveland Chapter of Legatus, a group of 2,200 Catholic CEOs; and he is a past parish council president of St. Christopher Catholic Church, in Rocky River, Ohio.
Mr. Kaufman currently serves on the boards of the Holley Institute in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and the Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Institute, in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, Mr. Kaufman is a director of South Dakota-based Biltmore Trust Company, and is a director of FO-FM, a multi-family office.
He graduated from Wittenberg University with a B.A. in Political Science in 1993, and completed the nationally-recognized graduate certificate program in family business succession and leadership at Case Western Reserve University in 2001 (the Weatherhead School of Management.)
Mr. Kaufman and his wife Claire, reside in Rocky River, Ohio, with their three children.
