As a very busy owner and CEO of a mid-size construction firm, I don’t have the time or the energy to visit various doctors over days, weeks, or even months – while awaiting test results and lab work analysis. By utilizing Healthnetwork Foundation, however, I found it was extremely convenient to have others arrange all of this for me. All I had to do was show up. I have reached an age, and a level of success, which prompted me to sign up for this comprehensive executive physical or Health and Wellness exam as I like to refer to it.

I chose the Mayo Clinic Florida in Jacksonville to perform my executive physical.  I was greeted by Holly and Denise, Healthnetwork GOLD liaisons, when I first arrived at my early morning tests and check-in process.  Both of these professionals were extremely helpful and comforting.  They gave me instruction as to where I was supposed to go and at what time to be there. When I was in need of anything, they were always available.  I had an astonishing 11 exams performed on that first day and 3 more on the next day. Exams included dermatology, audio, blood and urine samples, heart functions, MRI, stress tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and subsequent biopsies (when 3 polyps were found).  What a great relief to know that the tests all came back negative. 

Dr. Michael Steffan, M.D., the physician in charge of overseeing my personal exam experience, was simply unbelievable.  After arriving for my physical I asked Dr. Steffan if it was possible to see a Dermatologist.  He made a single phone call and within minutes my schedule was readjusted, complete with a full dermatological body exam. I was very concerned about my exposure to the Florida sun from my construction work, plus the fact that I’m an avid golfer. This same scenario occurred when I asked that an endoscopy be added to the exams list. Dr. Steffan managed to place it on an already tight schedule. This just can’t happen in the world of medicine as I’ve experienced it.
